Isabel Gruenhagen, LPC, MS
I specialize in LGBTQ+ inclusive and neurospicy individual and relationship counseling for couples, polycules, families, friends, and colleagues by tapping into communication dynamics and giving voice to internal motivations. Together, we uncover unmet needs and identify unhelpful communication habits. I take a tailored approach to helping my clients learn to express themselves to others, often unearthing unrealized traits and needs along the way. Through this process of self-discovery, my clients learn more about themselves and develop skills that they find useful elsewhere in life.
Whether I'm working with a relationship or an individual, I seek to meet all parties with equity and fairness. Within every human is a desire for validation, and often this is what lies at the core of distress. Together, we shift the conversation from "who did what" to "who yearns for what". I draw upon ACT and IFS (among others) to help you meet your goals.
I draw upon my experience as a partner, parent, engineer, teacher, artist and musician, and daughter of a blended family to offer services tailored to each client's individual needs. I have direct personal experience in the following areas: the cycle of rupture-and-repair, trauma (corporate; religious; sexual), infidelity, parental abandonment, and kin-care.
Isabel received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Kentucky University in 2024.
